Jailed West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee and aide Arpita Mukherjee’s ‘Apa’ farmhouse in Santiniketan has turned into a major attraction for tourists.

Several local rickshaw pullers on Sunday were seen ferrying tourists to the ‘Apa’ farmhouse at Taltor in Santiniketan, which was purchased by jailed Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee and his aide, Arpita Mukherjee.

“This house has become famous now. So, I thought of getting a selfie from here,” said Tapas Deb, a tourist from Baguiati in Kolkata who was spotted clicking pictures near the mansion.

Deb had come to visit Santiniketan, where the Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore resided and set up the esteemed Visva-Bharati University, for two days.

The farmhouse, bought by the duo in a neighbourhood of Bolpur town of Birbhum district, approximately 152 km north of Kolkata, cost them Rs 20 lakh, a deed accessed by India Today showed.
