Parents optimistic about Covid vaccine for children, await availability

The expert panel of India's Central Drug Authority has recommended granting emergency use authorisation to Bharat Biotech's Covaxin for children aged 2 to 18 with certain conditions, providing a ray of hope for parents.

Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech, submitted data from phase 2/3 trials of Covid vaccine Covaxin for use in children aged 2 to 18 years to the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) earlier this month for verification and subsequent approval for emergency use authorisation (EUA) for the vaccine.
