Composer-turned-director Palaash Muchhal has found support from actor Daisy Shah amid the controversy surrounding his cancelled wedding to cricketer Smriti Mandhana. Even as his personal life faces intense public scrutiny, Daisy has described Palaash as a “very good” person. Her remarks come as he moves forward professionally with a new directorial venture starring Shreyas Talpade and Daisy
Palaash’s wedding with Smriti was scheduled to take place in Sangli on November 25, 2025, but was abruptly called off a day before the ceremony. While initial communication cited the ill health of Smriti’s father as the reason, later allegations claimed that the wedding was cancelled following accusations of infidelity. Reports also suggested that Palaash was hospitalised in Sangli before returning to Mumbai. Both Palaash and Smriti later confirmed on social media that the wedding would not go ahead.
Now, in an interaction with Filmygyan, Daisy addressed her bond with Palaash and his family. Tracing their connection back several years, she shared that she first met him through his sister, singer Palak Muchhal, who had sung in her debut film, Jai Ho.
Daisy said, “Palaash is very good as a person. In fact, I have met him a couple of times. Palak had done a song for Jai Ho, so I have known her since then, so I frequently go to parties at Palak‘s home for birthdays and Ganpati Pooja, and that’s how I met Palaash. That’s how I got to know that he is a music composer and a director."
She also spoke warmly about his family, adding, “I met his family, beautiful family, they are very grounded. They very much believe in God and I think that is the good part about them. Those who believe in God are positive people."
Her remarks come at a time when Palaash’s personal life continues to be discussed widely online and in the media.
