The BSF on Saturday night opened fire on a Pakistani drone that was spotted in Pathankot, forcing it to flee.
Security forces along the India-Pakistan border on the intervening nights of Saturday and Sunday chased away a drone that came from across the border. The incident occurred along the Bamiyal border of Pathankot.
The Border Security Force (BSF) said that the drone came from Pakistan around midnight.
"The Pakistani drone was sighted by BSF personnel near the Dinda post. We fired 46 rounds at the drone, forcing it to flee to Pakistan. The police are now searching the border to detect any further threats," BSF said.
Last month, a similar incident happened when BSF troops opened fire at a drone coming from Pakistan near the international border in Jammu’s Arnia, after which it returned.
