Ousted leader Sasikala reignites speculation about her entry into AIADMK

VK Sasikala stated that AIADMK leaders are still in talks with her and only a few, who are seeking party posts, are against her.

Expelled All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) General Secretary Sasikala stated that party leaders are still in talks with her and only a few, who are seeking party posts, are against her entry into the AIADMK fold.

Sasikala said, "Not everyone speaks against me. Only a few. They might be making such remarks perhaps in the expectation of a party post. The party was started by our leader and only the cadres can decide the leadership."

“You can’t compare anyone with Amma [former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa]. Only a leadership selected by the cadres can have control of the party. I don’t see such a leadership in the party now,” she added.

Sasikala also attacked the ruling DMK. She said the government completed one year in power yet it failed to provide the governance it promised during the elections. Now, considering the ground reality, we will definitely form Amma's regime very soon, she said.

When asked about AIADMK Coordinator O Panneerselvan's statement that he still personally holds Sasikala in high regard and whether he contacted her, Sasikala said she can’t speak about it in an open forum.

After being found guilty in a disproportionate assets case, Sasikala spent four years in jail. She and her nephew, TTV Dhinakaran, were later sacked from the party.

There has been speculation that Sasikala might join the AIADMK again, but party Joint-Coordinator and former Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has reiterated that there is no scope for Sasikala in the party.
