Oppo Pad Air India launch timeline tipped, could debut alongside Reno 8 series

The Oppo Pad Air was launched earlier this month in China.

Oppo Reno 8 series is rumoured to launch in India sometime next month. The company has not yet announced the Oppo Reno 8 series India launch date at the time of writing this. While we wait for that, a new report claims that Oppo will also launch its first Android tablet in India alongside the Reno 8 series.

The Oppo Pad Air, which debuted earlier this month in China, is set to make its entry in India in June or July, according to 91Mobiles. The report, citing tipster Yogesh Brar, claims that Oppo is testing the Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro in India. This suggests that the two devices will launch later this year in India. There is no word on whether the Reno 8 Pro+ will launch alongside.

As per rumours, the Reno 8 series India launch event will be hosted around mid-June. However, Brar claims that the launch could be held in late June or early July. We would advise our readers to wait for some official details to get better clarity on the Oppo Reno 8 India launch date.

The Oppo Pad Air is a trimmed-down version of the Oppo Pad, which was launched earlier this year. The Air version comes with support for the Oppo Pencil. The Android tablet can also be attached magnetically to a smart keyboard.

The Android tablet has a 10.36-inch 2K display with a 2000 x 1200 pixel resolution. The screen supports a standard 60Hz refresh rate. It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset under the hood. The tablet was launched in China with up to 6GB of RAM. We can expect the India variant to come with the same RAM options. It will be paired with 64GB/ 128GB of internal storage. There is support for storage expansion via a microSD card slot. Users can expand the memory up to 512GB.

The Oppo Pad Air has an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. It packs a 7100 mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging.

The base 6GBGB RAM option with 64GB storage is priced at CNY 1,299, which is roughly Rs 15,120. The 4GB RAM variant with 128GB storage is priced at CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs 17,400).
