Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, Congress national spokesperson Pawan Khera, along with many other opposition leaders react strongly against the PM's statements.
If looking after the migrants who were left stranded following the sudden announcement of lockdown due to the pandemic was wrong in the eyes of the PM, then we would repeat this mistake 100 times for the sake of humanity, said Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi on Monday.
This came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his Lok Sabha address on Monday, alleged that the opposition parties "gave free tickets" to migrant workers in Mumbai, which resulted in the spread of infection.
"When Shramik Trains started, can the nation forget how these poor labourers were being charged for a ticket? The state government stepped in to pay their fare," she added.
When the trains requested by the states was not given to them but rather politicised by the then Rail Minister in sheer arrogance of control, should the citizens of this nation been left alone? Have some sensitivity, some humility to sufferings faced before making these comments
National spokesperson for Congress Pawan Khera also hit out at the PM over his statements in the Lok Sabha.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

India's original Dhurandhar, Ravindra Kaushik, rose from acting at college theatres, to infiltrating the Pakistan Army as a RAW Agent. He provided critical intelligence on Pakistani troop movements and the country's nuclear programme, but died a lonely death after his betrayal and subsequent capture by the ISI.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
