OnePlus Nord 2 battery fire turns out to be fake, OnePlus issues statement
India Today
On Tuesday, a Twitter user reported a new incident of a blast involving the recently unveiled OnePlus Nord 2. However, after investigation, the company found that the claim was fake and has now clarified the entire thing in a statement.
In what could be termed as a weird experience for OnePlus, a Twitter user on Tuesday tweeted that a Nord 2 exploded, leaving the person involved in the incident in trauma. The news about smartphones involved in the explosion caused due to battery or any other external issue is rare, but isn't something that we haven't heard of. And, it was evident that the news would soon garner interest from smartphone enthusiasts, including the media, which started covering the incident without cross-checking. But, soon, the alleged claim turned out to be a hoax as the person deleted the tweets and his account from Twitter. Strange to say the least. To summarise, someone called out OnePlus India on Twitter claiming to be involved in a phone exploding event and later deleted the tweet and the account without offering any proof. Therefore, it can be termed as a stunt or a fake claim. In an emailed statement, OnePlus has now clarified that the alleged case was indeed false.
