OnePlus 10 Pro now receiving May 2022 security update

The OnePlus 10 Pro’s new May 2022 security update should make your phone rid of several annoyances.

OnePlus’ phones are good due to many factors. They not only have appealing specifications but also provide timely software updates. The latest OnePlus 10 Pro is now receiving the May security patch as a part of the OxygenOS A.14. The new update, which is incrementally rolling out to users, brings fixes for several bugs, including music playback issues with Bluetooth-connected cars and audio recording issues.

The OnePlus 10 Pro’s new May update should make your phone rid of several annoyances. For instance, users have been complaining that when they connected the OnePlus 10 Pro to their car, the music would abruptly get paused and played. Some other users said that while recording audio on the OnePlus 10 Pro, there was some noise and disturbances, while some complained of overexposed HDR photos clicked from the main rear camera and unstable calls.

OnePlus has fixed all of those issues with OxygenOS A.14 for the OnePlus 10 Pro. The changelog of the new software update reads:

System[Improved] system stability.[Fixed] an issue where music playback would stutter when your phone was connected to a Bluetooth car kit.[Fixed] a noise issue that might occur when you record audio.[Updated] Android security patch to 2022.05Camera[Fixed] an issue where the HDR photos might be overexposed in some cases.Network[Optimized] the phone call stability.

OnePlus 10 Pro users replied to OnePlus’ forum posts with their concerns, which mainly highlighted the unaddressed issues. One of them is where the OnePlus 10 Pro does not show WhatsApp notifications on the lock screen. This seems like an annoying issue, but it is not clear if this is widespread or not. Another one is where Instagram scrolling looks jittery.

The OxygenOS A.14 is an over-the-air update, which means it will start showing up on your phones in the coming days. Since it is being rolled out incrementally, some people will get the update before others, but ultimately everyone will be eligible. “The OTA will reach a small percentage of users today, and we'll begin a broader rollout in a few days,” the company wrote in the post. The OnePlus 10 Pro units in India will show the firmware version number NE2211_11.A.14 after the update is installed.

The OnePlus 10 Pro is the company’s 2022 flagship that is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. It comes with a 6.7-inch LTPO2 Fluid AMOLED display that has a 120Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 1300 nits, and support for 1 billion colours. It is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. On the back of the OnePlus 10 Pro is a 48-megapixel triple camera system with Hasselblad Color Calibration, while for selfies, there is a 32-megapixel camera housed inside the punch-hole. The OnePlus 10 Pro features a 5000mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging through a wire and 50W fast charging wirelessly.
