Batting great Sachin Tendulkar played his last ODI on March 18, 2012, while Dinesh Karthik hit a last-ball six to help India win the Nidahas Trophy six years later.

Batting great Sachin Tendulkar bid adieu to ODI cricket exactly 10 years ago and wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik starred with a last-ball six to help India win the Nidahas Trophy six years later with an explosive cameo against Bangladesh.

Sachin played his final ODI innings against Pakistan during the 2012 Asia Cup at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur. In his last ODI, Tendulkar scored 52 runs as the Indian team was chasing a total of 330. India managed to chase down the total with 13 balls to spare as Virat Kohli played a knock of 183 runs. Kohli took matters into his own hands and notched up a superb century.

In 2012's Asia Cup, Tendulkar registered his 100th ton in international cricket during the match against Bangladesh. The Master Blaster announced his retirement from ODI cricket on December 23, 2012, scoring 18,426 runs, smashing 49 centuries with his highest score being an unbeaten 200.

Dinesh Karthik's heroics helped India pull off an incredible chase, beating Bangladesh by four wickets in the Nidhas T20 Tri-series final, on March 18, 2018.

Needing five off the final delivery, Karthik smashed Soumya Sarkar over extra-cover as a second-string Indian side held its nerve in a tense situation to chase down a target of 167 in 20 overs. It would count as one of India’s famous last ball sixes, something that a Pakistani legend did against India 32 years back in Sharjah.

Karthik’s gem of a cameo got him 29 off 8 balls with two boundaries and three sixes, the last of them which will be forever be etched in the memory.
