In the last 24 hours, Noida recorded 60 new fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the active case tally to 511.
Noida recorded 60 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The active case tally reached 511 on Sunday with eight hospitalisations.
As per the reports, Gautam Buddh Nagar administered 1,536 Covid-19 vaccine doses on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Gautam Buddh Nagar administration has extended section 144 of the CrPC (banning the assembly of five or more persons) till August 31, in the wake of rising Covid-19 cases.
Strict actions will be taken against residents who will violate the norms.
In the official statement, the Noida police wrote, "In view of increasing Covid-19 cases and upcoming festivals and examinations in Commissionerate Gautam Budh Nagar, under prohibitory orders, CrPC Section-144 is modified and extended from 01.07.2022 to 31.08.2022."
Citizens are also advised to wear masks and maintain social distancing. All social gatherings without permission are prohibited.
Meanwhile, Ghaziabad also recorded 26 new cases, taking the active tally to 203 on Sunday. Over 4,300 samples were tested the previous day in Ghaziabad. The positivity rate stood at 0.40 per cent.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
