
No wall writings on private buildings permitted in urban areas in Virudhunagar district

Virudhunagar prohibits wall writings on private buildings; complaint hotline available 24/7 for election-related issues.
All political parties and candidates have been instructed to avoid wall writings, pasting of posters, placing cut-outs, banners, or flex boards on public places and premises of government offices.
Chairing a meeting with representatives of political parties here on Monday, Virudhunagar Collector N.O. Sukhaputra said that in urban areas no graffiti is allowed on walls of private buildings even if the building owner gave consent.
However, in rural areas, wall writings on private buildings could be done on with the consent of the building owner and after getting permission from the Government official concerned. These advertisements would be included in the candidate’s election expenditure account, the Collector said.
The political parties were told that they would not be allowed to conduct meetings in auditoriums, halls, and ground under the administration of local bodies or on the premises belonging to the cooperative sector. Similarly educational institutions and their playgrounds would not be allowed for conducting political meetings or processions.
The political parties should obtain perimission from the official concerned to use flags or stickers on any vehicles. Similarly, modification of body of vehicles or erecting loudspeakers should be done only in compliance with provisions of Motor Vehicles Act and relevant local laws and regulations.
The parties or their representatives should apply through https://suvidha.eci.gov.in/login 48 hours in advance while seeking permission for campaign meetings, processions, for setting up temporary election offices, or campaign vehicles.
