Kerala Excise Minister TP Ramakrishnan asked the Kerala State Beverages Corporation to halt its initiative to provide home delivery of liquor in the state.
No decision has been taken on the home delivery of liquor in Kerala even as the state Excise Minister TP Ramakrishnan blocked the Kerala State Beverages Corporation's initiative. The Kerala State Beverages Corporation a public sector undertaking the selling of liquor in the state. Bars and all other liquor outlets in Kerala have been closed in the wake of the second wave of Covid-19. Following this, the Kerala State Beverages Corporation had taken initial steps to start home delivery of liquor via a mobile app that is used for the delivery of food items. Kerala minister TP Ramakrishnan called the Kerala State Beverages Corporation managing director Yogesh Gupta and asked him to stop the process of delivering liquor at door step.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
