Nimrat Kaur posted a powerful note on her physical transformation after a 15kg weight gain for Dasvi. The actress played Abhishek Bachchan's on-screen wife, Bimla Devi for the film.

Nimrat Kaur has been garnering praise from all quarters for her performance in Dasvi, co-starring Abhishek Bachchan and Yami Gautam. The actress played Abhishek’s reel-life, Bimla Devi on screen. Nimrat, in her latest social media post, penned an open letter where she wrote how she had to gain 15 kg for the film and the journey of her physical transformation. The same is now going viral on social media.

Nimrat Kaur, in her never-seen-ever role as Bimla Devi in Netflix film Dasvi, was another league. The actress had to gain weight to suit her role and wrote an open letter on Instagram as she shared her weight-loss journey. The note was captioned, “Weigh on it Swipe left for my thousand words this picture won’t speak (sic)”. Excerpts from her open letter could be read, “In the age of heightened expectations regarding what we 'should' look like, at all times - gender, age and profession no bar, I'm sharing a small chapter from my life that brought with its learnings that shall last a lifetime. Bear with me, as unfortunately, there isn't a 'bite sized' version of this 10-month long journey (sic).”

Further adding, “Born with what's typically categorised a small to a medium body type, with Dasvi came the requirement for me to size 'up'. The idea being to be as unrecognisable and physically as dissimilar from 'being Nimrat' as possible. There was no target number in mind, but by the end of trying to achieve the desired visual impact, I was a touch above 15 kilos from my usual body weight. Initially, I was rather petrified of an unseen reality I was going to have to own and embrace. But as I steadily and lovingly along with the support and encouragement of my loved ones around me began right conversations with myself, I began relishing the process of becoming Bimla (sic).”

She concluded with, “Be kind. Be sensitive. Be graceful. Don't make someone's day worse if you can't make it better. Be responsible. Make only your mind and body your business. No one else's (sic).”

As mentioned above, Nimrat Kaur played the role of Bimla Devi, who becomes a chief minister after her husband (played by Abhishek Bachchan) gets arrested and is put behind bars. The film also stars Yami Gautam, who plays the role of a cop. Directed by Tushar Jalota, Dasvi released on April 7 on Netflix.
