Nikkhil Advani's The Empire premiered today, August 27, on Disney+Hotstar. The series stars Shabana Azmi, Kunal Kapoor, Drashti Dhami and Dino Morea in pivotal roles. Nikkhil, who is the creator of the series, revealed that Shabana Azmi asked him to replace her in the series after she got badly injured in a road accident. Shabana Azmi met with accident on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway in January last year. After the accident, she took a couple of months' break to recuperate. As a result, the actress advised Nikkhil to replace her in the series instead of waiting for her. However, the filmmaker decided to wait for the actress.
