New idol of Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya consecrated at Paladhara-Panchadhara, Srisailam, amid grand rituals and celebrations.
The new idol of Sri Sharadamba sahitha Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya was consecrated at the Paladhara-Panchadhara, a sub-temple of Srisailam temple, on Sunday (March 08) morning. The consecration ceremony was done under the supervision of Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham pontiff Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Swamy in the presence of Srisailam temple Executive Officer M Srinivasa Rao and Vedic pundits.
Addressing the gathering of officials and devotees, Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Swamy said Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya performed penance at the Paladhara-Panchadhara and had composed the Sivananda Lahari at the same place. Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Swamy gave insights into the glory of Srisailam temple, Dakshina Murthy, Advaitam and the Sivananda Lahari strotram to the devotees.
The consecration ceremony commenced on March 6 and various rituals like Yagashala Pravesham, homams, pooja to the new idols and others were performed during the past three days, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said.
