
National level kabaddi player dies of suicide in Tamil Nadu, probe on

Banumadhi, a 25-year-old kabaddi player, reportedly died by suicide in Tamil Nadu's Kanchipuram.
A national level kabaddi player allegedly ended her life on Wednesday at her residence in Tamil Nadu's Kanchipuram. The kabaddi player identified as Banumathi was reportedly found hanging from the ceiling of her living room in Managadu.
The athlete was immediately rushed to a private hospital. She was declared brought dead. The 25-year-old kabaddi player was the youngest daughter of Dharmaraj, a vegetable vendor.
The police officials were informed about the incident and Banumathi's body was taken for postmortem. The police have confiscated Banumathi's cell phone for further investigation.

Banumathi has played in state and national level kabaddi competitions. Police have said that the initial investigation has revealed that Banumathi was devastated that she had not got a proper job.
The police officials are also investigating if there were any other reasons behind her death.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
