The blast occurred when Hossain, Trinamool Congress MLA and the minister of state for labour, was going to board a train to Kolkata at the Nimtita railway station on February 17. Hossain suffered serious injuries on his legs and lower abdominal portion. Two other persons who were with the minister were also injured in the attack.
