BJP leader Nainar Nagenthran condemns Aadhav Arjuna’s inappropriate remarks against Rajinikanth, urging an apology and public distancing.
BJP Tamil Nadu president Nainar Nagenthran has condemned remarks made by Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) general secretary (election campaign management) Aadhav Arjuna against actor Rajinikanth, calling them inappropriate and unwarranted.
In a post on X, Mr. Nagenthran said Mr. Rajinikanth remained one of the most respected figures in Indian cinema and had led the Tamil film industry for more than four decades.
Stating the remarks made by Mr. Arjuna [claiming Rajinikanth was pressured by the DMK not to enter politics] were “deeply inappropriate and condemnable”, the BJP leader accused him of attempting to gain publicity by targeting a widely respected personality. He urged the leadership of the TVK to take note of the remarks, publicly distance the party from them and advise Mr. Arjuna to refrain from such conduct.
Mr. Nagenthran also said Mr. Arjuna should issue an unconditional apology to the fans and well-wishers of Mr. Rajinikanth.
