
Nagaland govt forms SIT to investigate firing incident in Mon district

The Nagaland government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the firing incident that took place on Saturday evening in Mon district that led to the killing of 14 civilians.
The Nagaland government on Sunday set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the firing incident in which 14 civilians were killed in an area between Tiru and Oting village in Mon district involving security forces.
In an order issued by the state home department signed by Chief Secretary J Alam, it said that there were firing incidents on Saturday in an area between Tiru and Oting village involving security forces in which 14 civilians died and many others were injured. One security personnel was also killed in the incident.
