Murder accused absconding since 2018, carrying reward of Rs 2 lakh, arrested by Delhi Police

Delhi Police, on Tuesday, August 16, arrested Man Kumar for murdering a man in September 2018. He had been absconding since then. Officials had also declared a reward of Rs 2 lakh for information leading to his arrest.

The crime branch of Delhi Police arrested an accused, identified as Man Kumar, who was wanted in connection with a murder that took place in September 2018. A cash reward of Rs 2 lakh had also been announced for information leading to his arrest.

On September 10, 2018, Safdarjung Enclave police station received information that a dead male had been found near the cremation ground in Green Park Extension. Officials reached the spot and found that the head and private parts of the dead body were cut with a knife.

The deceased was identified as Nanda Pramanik, a resident of West Bengal. Investigations revealed that two accused were involved in the incident. One of the accused, Ravi Kanaujia, was arrested and a charge sheet was filed against him.

The main accused, Man Kumar, has been absconding since 2018. A cash reward of Rs 2 lakh was declared for information leading to his arrest.

Recently, officials received information regarding Man Kumar’s movements. The information was verified and a team was deployed to develop reliable details.

During the operation, officials observed that the accused frequently visited areas of Jogbani and Forbesganj in Bihar, close to the Indo-Nepal border. He had also spent considerable time in Nepal, where he had been hiding.

The accused was also frequently changing his hideouts. The team spent several days in search of him in Bihar, UP East and adjoining areas on the Indo-Nepal border.
