MMRDA Engineer Satyajit Salve suspended after a fatal accident on Mumbai Metro Line 4; treatment for injured covered.
Metro 4 Executive Engineer Satyajit Salve has been suspended in connection with the accident that occurred on Saturday (February 14, 2026) in Mumbai’s Mulund area on Metro Line 4 (Wadala-Kasarwadavali) route.
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde directed the suspension, saying that the MMRDA will bear the expenses of the treatment of the injured. “The officials who compromise public safety will not be spared,” he said.
On Saturday (February 14, 2026), a part of the ‘parapet segment’ of the under-construction Metro Line 4 collapsed killing one person and injuring three others. The under-construction Metro Line-4 viaduct collapsed onto an autorickshaw and a car at around 12.20 pm.
The injured have been identified as Rajkumar Indrajeet Yadav (45), who is in critical condition in the ICU, Mahendra Pratap Yadav (52) and Deepa Ruhiya (40), both are stable, while Ramdhan Yadav was declared brought dead at the hospital.
An FIR has also been registered in the case under sections 105, 110, 324(5), 3(5) BNS against managers, engineers, supervisor and worker of company that is Milan Road Buildtech, subcontractor of Reliance Astaldi JV, and DB Hill LBG Supervisory company.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered probe into the incident and also declared ₹5 lakh ex gratia to the family of the deceased.
