A special court in Mumbai has convicted a school employee for raping an 11-year-old girl who was studying at a municipal school in South Mumbai. While the victim’s guardian had written a letter in support of the accused, the court has given him 15 years in prison.
The victim lost her mother and sister and was later abandoned by her father as well since the incident. She used to stay with her aunt. Another aunt has been taking care of her younger brother.
