
Mumbai: FIR filed against ex-Gujarat minister Praful Patel, 8 others for role in Dadra MP Mohan Delkar's suicide

Mumbai Police has registered an FIR for alleged abetment to suicide against Praful Kheda Patel, administrator of the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, in connection with the death of Lok Sabha member Mohan Delkar.
The Mumbai Police has registered an FIR against former Gujarat minister Praful Kheda Patel and eight others for their alleged involvement in the suicide of Lok Sabha MP Mohan Delkar. Praful Kheda Patel and eight others have been accused of abetment to suicide and extortion in the Mohan Delkar death case.
As per the Bill, those involved in unlawful conversions on the pretext of marriage will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and shall also be liable for a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Violations in respect of a minor, a person of unsound mind, a woman or a person belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs 5 lakh.
