Kangana Ranaut’s lawyer intends to challenge rejection of plea to transfer defamation case filed by Javed Akhtar against the actress to another court. The hearing has been adjourned till December 13.
While Kangana Ranaut and lyricist Javed Akhtar, both remained absent in the hearing of the defamation complaint filed by the latter, the former told the court through her lawyer that she will be filing an appeal against the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) order passed against her recently. The appeal is likely to be filed soon in the Mumbai sessions court.
The Andheri Magistrate Court had scheduled Javed Akhtar's complaint for hearing after more than two months as during the last hearing on September 20, Kangana had told the court that she had no faith in it. Even her own complaint which she had filed against Akhtar recently came up for hearing before the same court on Monday.
