
MPs to go vegan for PETA India’s ‘World Environment Day’ campaign on June 5

Several MPs from various political parties will participate in an initiative by PETA India to go vegan on World Environment Day on June 5 to make people aware of eating more Earth-friendly foods.
On the occasion of World Environment Day which falls on June 5, several Members of Parliament (MPs) from various political parties will participate in an initiative by PETA India to go vegan, by forgoing meat, dairy and other animal-derived foods to create awareness among people to choose Earth-friendly foods. 5 , # pic.twitter.com/at3TCmRT15 Parliamentarians participating in the initiative are - Maneka Gandhi, MP from Pilibhit; Shafiqur Rahman Barq, MP from Sambhal; Bellana Chandra Sekhar, MP from Vizianagaram; Ajay Bhatt, MP from Nainital-Udhamsingh Nagar; Anuradha Chinta, MP from Amalapuram; Sunita Duggal, MP from Sirsa; Vijay Hansdak, MP from Rajmahal; and Kaushal Kishore, MP from Mohan Lalganj, according to a release by PETA. “I am delighted to join PETA India’s green initiative by eating vegan foods on World Environment Day. Just by eating more plants over animal-derived foods, we can fight climate change and other environmental effects with simple diet change,” said Anuradha Chinta.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
