Move over Johnny Depp-Amber Heard. A look at 5 celebrity couples fights, on Monday Masala

They say fighting is healthy in a relationship, however, what happens when it blows out of proportion and makes headlines? Amid Johnny Depp-Amber Heard's legal battle, check out some of the worst celebrity couples fights we've witnessed.

The entertainment industry is the hub of masala, and if you are a celebrity couple, things get especially difficult with the constant media attention. It turns bitter when celebrity couples choose to wash their dirty linen in public. This is what is happening in Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's ongoing legal battle - the messiness, the scandal of it is making us all go yikes! Behind every perfectly-posed red-carpet photo, there could be plenty of trouble. From Sanjay Khan and Zeenat Aman to Karan Mehra and Nisha Rawal, we dive into some of the worst celebrity couples fights in history.

The world witnessed Johnny Depp fighting against Amber Heard in Fairfax, Virginia court, and it was everything but normal. In a bizarre move, the Court TV has even broadcast the entire trial, where several people watched and discussed the high-profile celebrity case of the year. It all started when Johnny Depp sued his ex-wife Amber Heard with a $50 million lawsuit for defamation over an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post. In her article, the actress claimed that she was a domestic abuse survivor, however, she did not name him in the article.

In 2016, Heard had filed for divorce and alleged that Depp had physically abused her during their marriage under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Depp denied the accusations and stated that Heard was "attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse". Meanwhile, there have been some explosive revelations made in the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard trial. From a missing fingertip to f**king Amber's corpse to threesome with Elon Musk - their defamation trial is getting uglier by the day.

Back in the day, Zeenat Aman was every man's dream girl. She tied the knot with actor Sanjay Khan at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan in 1978 and got separated in 1979. Sanjay was married with three children when he fell in love with Zeenat Aman on the sets of their film Abdullah. A story in Cine Blitz, dating back to 1980, details how Sanjay beat Zeenat black and blue at a five-star hotel in Mumbai, in the presence of several onlookers who did not lift a finger to help her.

It all started when Zeenat was shooting in Lonavala, Maharashtra. Sanjay called her up from Mumbai and angrily demanded that she leave everything and re-shoot a portion of a song in Abdullah that had already been shot. When she reasoned that she had already given her dates to another film, he accused her of being sexually involved with the makers. An exasperated Zeenat left straight for his house, where she was told that he was attending a party at a 5-star hotel in Mumbai. Later, an inebriated Sanjay asked her why she had come to the hotel. Apparently, Sanjay took her to the adjoining room and "let loose his animal wrath". He beat her up, lifting her by her hair and continuing to thrash her every time she fell.

In 2005, if Preity Zinta was ruling Bollywood, Ness Wadia was taking the world of business by storm. The ex-couple seemed like a match made in heaven. And when they bought an Indian Premier League (IPL) team, Kings XI Punjab, together, the nation started placing bets on when they would get married. However, their happiness was short-lived. In 2009, the couple parted ways. Speculation was rife that a few months before their break-up, Ness lost his cool and slapped Preity at a party. However, neither ever spoke about why they called it quits. Preity said in an interview shortly after that despite their break-up, they continue to be friends and business partners. So when Preity filed a complaint against Ness Wadia on June 13, 2014, accusing him of molestation, threats and abuse, it sent shockwaves across the nation.

Things allegedly took an ugly turn at the Wankhede Stadium on May 30, 2014, during a Kings XI Punjab vs Chennai Super Kings match. Ness was allegedly abusing the team staff over ticket distribution when Preity was seated in the Garware Pavilion. When she asked him to calm down, he abused and manhandled her by grabbing her arm, she claimed. To support this claim, she submitted four photographs to the police, showing 'bruise-like' marks on her right arm.
