
Mother of woman who joined ISIS files plea in Kerala HC seeking her repatriation

K Bindu, mother of Nimisha Fathima, has filed a plea in the Kerala High Court seeking the repatriation of her daughter and her 4-year-old grandchild. Nimisha Fathima left India to join ISIS in 2016 or 2017.
K Bindu, a native of Thiruvananthapuram and the mother of Nimisha Fathima, has filed a plea in the Kerala High Court seeking the repatriation of her daughter and her four-year-old grandchild. Nimisha Fathima had left Kerala to join the Islamic State (IS) militant group a few years ago. Bindu’s habeas corpus petition seeks to direct the central government to bring back Nimisha Fathima as well as her grandchild and to produce them in court. They have been lodged in a prison in Afghanistan since 2019.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
