Monitoring people, door-to-door survey: Maharashtra health dept after 1st Zika virus case

The Maharashtra Health Department is conducting a door-to-door survey and monitoring people after the first case of the zika virus was reported in the state from the Pune district.
Maharashtra Health Department's Surveillance Officer Pradeep Awate told India Today TV that the state is conducting a door-to-door survey and seeking the help of community management to monitor people and contain the spread of the zika virus after the first case was reported in the state from the Pune district. He said since the vector through which zika gets transmitted is similar to that of dengue and chikungunya. The village from where the first case was reported is registering both the infections along with zika, he said.More Related News
