
Money laundering allegation: BJP leader writes to ED seeking action against Shiv Sena MLA

BJP leader Kirit Somaiya wrote to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) demanding action against Shiv Sena MLA Yamini Jadhav a day after India Today reported that the Income Tax department was seeking her disqualification.
A day after India Today reported about the Income Tax (I-T) department seeking disqualification of Shiv Sena MLA Yamini Jadhav over discrepancies in her affidavit for the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya wrote to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) demanding action against her. In a letter to the ED director, Kirit Somaiya said: "It seems properties worth crores of rupees, transaction by shell companies, foreign companies with UAE-based needs investigation."
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
