Mohammed Zubair’s lawyers allege discrepancies in Delhi court bail order

Mohammed Zubair's lawyers have alleged that there are "discrepancies" in the Delhi court order. The court on Saturday denied bail to Zubair, who was arrested over an "objectionable tweet".
A Delhi court on Saturday denied bail to Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair and sent him to 14-day judicial custody. The bail application was rejected by the court on the basis that the investigation is still in its initial state. However, Zubair's lawyer has alleged that there are discrepancies in the court order.
"The court order highlights that the police didn’t recover any records to show that any mobile phone of the accused was lost. However, this is incorrect. The Delhi Police Special Cell has in a different case before the High Court acknowledged this fact already,” Advocate Soutik Banerjee told India Today.

Zubair was arrested for an “objectionable tweet” he posted in 2018.
The Delhi Police had initially sought remand to retrieve his mobile phone that was used in 2018 to put out the said tweet. However, Zubair maintained that his phone, a One Plus pro, was lost and a lost report was filed in March 2021.
The counsel alleged that the "lost report copy was submitted before the court and furnished to Delhi Police."
“Nothing was found on record to show that any mobile phone of the accused was lost, although said plea has been taken now in the present application,” the court order read.
