Kejriwal labels Modi corrupt at a rally, claiming the BJP's downfall has begun after his discharge from the excise case.
Launching a direct attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi by calling him “corrupt”, Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, in his first public rally after being discharged in the Delhi excise policy case, said the Bharatiya Janata Party’s downfall has started.
“Friends, this is that Jantar Mantar from where people decided to get rid of Congress. Today, this day of Jantar Mantar is a historic day. Note today’s date. From today, the countdown for the BJP’s [downfall] has started,” Mr. Kejriwal said while addressing party workers at Jantar Mantar in the heart of the national capital on Sunday (March 1, 2026).
“Modiji won’t take action [against corruption] because either Modiji is personally involved in corruption or his party members or his friends are involved in the scams. I’m not corrupt, Modiji is the one doing corruption,” he added.
On Friday, February 27, 2026, a special court discharged former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his deputy Manish Sisodia, and 21 others in the politically charged liquor policy case.
Mr. Kejriwal said he would quit politics if one contractor said that he had asked for money.
“Fate made me the Chief Minister of Delhi. I was the Chief Minister for 10 years. Prime Minister Modiji, I don’t know how many inquiries he initiated against me, but they didn’t find corruption of even one paisa. Today, I challenge you. I was Chief Minister for 10 years and signed many files. Even if one contractor or one vendor of Delhi government stands up and says that ‘Kejriwal had asked me for money’, I will leave politics,” he said.
