Congress named Lal Thanhawla a member of the Congress Working Committee after he resigned as chief of the Mizoram party unit.
The Congress on Sunday named Lal Thanhawla a member of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) after he resigned as chief of the Mizoram party unit. Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi accepted Thanhawla's resignation as Mizoram Congress chief on Saturday and invited him to join the CWC as a member.
In an official statement released on Sunday, the party said Gandhi had appointed Thanhawla, the former Mizoram chief minister, as a member of the CWC.
