Minister S. Muthusamy unveils Erode district's Vision 2030 action plan, outlining development strategies and introducing the "Erodecoop" app.
Minister for Housing, Prohibition and Excise S. Muthusamy on Friday released the Vision 2030 strategies and action plan document for Erode district under the “En Oor En Kanavu” (My Place, My Dream) scheme.
The document outlines development strategies for the district up to 2030 and also includes a report on the achievements and schemes implemented in the district over the past five years. The State government had earlier launched the “En Oor En Kanavu” initiative to prepare long-term development plans for districts across Tamil Nadu. The action plan for Erode district was prepared based on suggestions received during a consultative meeting held on January 30.
Ministers, MPs and MLAs, local body representatives, officials from various departments, subject experts, representatives of non-governmental organisations, retired officials, academicians, researchers, prominent personalities and members of the public participated in the meeting and shared their views. Based on these inputs, the strategies and action plan document for the district was finalised.
During the event, the Minister also launched the “Erodecoop” mobile application developed by the Erode District Cooperative Department. Introduced under the Vision 2030 initiative, the app aims to integrate the department’s services with modern technology and deliver them to the public more efficiently. The application will enable people to access cooperative department services such as value-added products, medicines, agricultural machinery and tools, and services offered through the department’s service centres from their locations.
Collector S. Kandasamy, MP K.E. Prakash, MLAs V.C. Chandrakumar (Erode East) and A.G. Venkatachalam (Anthiyur), Mayor S. Nagarathinam, Deputy Mayor V. Selvaraj, Project Director (DRDA) Priya, Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies P. Kandharaja, and officials from various departments were present.
