Mahila court in Coimbatore to announce judgment on March 7 in high-profile gang-rape case involving three accused.
The Mahila court in Coimbatore will pronounce on Saturday (March 7, 2026) the judgment in the case related to the gang-rape of a college student by three men near the Coimbatore International Airport on the intervening night of November 2 and 3, 2025.
T. Karuppasamy alias Satheesh, 30, his brother T. Kaleeswaran alias Karthik, 21, both natives of Singampunari in Sivaganga district, and their distant relative M. Guna alias Thavasi, 20, of Madurai district are the three accused in the case. The three men, who are in judicial remand in the Coimbatore Central Prison, will be produced before the court in the morning, and Judge (in-charge) V. Sundararaj will deliver the judgment.
The police filed the chargesheet in the case on December 1, 2025. The accused were arraigned under Sections 324(4), 140(3), and 309(6), read with 311, 70(1), 140(4), 115(2), 74, 76, 127(2), 64(2)(m), 111(2)(b) and 111(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
A supplementary chargesheet was filed on January 8, 2026. The trial commenced on February 2 and was completed in 22 days. The court examined 72 prosecution witnesses, including the survivor and her boyfriend, who had been assaulted by the accused. The prosecution submitted 111 exhibits, including forensic reports.
