Mini unveils 1965 Victory Edition to honour Monte Carlo triumph, bookings open
India Today
Celebrating its historic 1965 rally victory, Mini has launched the 1965 Victory Edition, a limited-run Cooper S-inspired model honouring its iconic Monte Carlo Rally triumph.
More than six decades after conquering the legendary rally stages of Monte Carlo Rally, Mini has introduced a new commemorative model, the 1965 Victory Edition. The special edition pays tribute to the iconic Mini Cooper S that clinched overall victory in 1965 under the stewardship of Timo Mäkinen and co-driver Paul Easter.
The edition will be available across multiple variants globally, including the Mini John Cooper Works (JCW), Mini John Cooper Works Electric and the Mini Cooper S. However, for India, the limited-run model will be offered exclusively in the combustion-powered Cooper S guise with the JCW Pack. Bookings are now open in India, with deliveries set to commence from March 2026 in select markets and from July 2026 across Europe.
The 1965 Victory Edition stands out instantly with its exclusive Chili Red paint finish, contrasted by a white stripe stretching from the bonnet over the roof and onto the tailgate. The visual drama is amplified by bold '52' decals on the doors, a direct nod to the race number worn by the 1965 rally-winning car.
Further distinguishing elements include 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels, a twin-bubble rear spoiler, floating hub caps inspired by rally motorsport, and a centrally positioned tailpipe integrated beneath the diffuser. A subtle '1965' insignia on the C-pillar and edition-specific badging on the rear windscreen underline its historic inspiration.
The JCW Pack enhances the sporty character with gloss-black exterior accents, blacked-out Mini emblems and 'John Cooper Works' branding on the grille and tailgate.
Inside, the cabin blends Mini's contemporary design language with heritage-themed touches. Illuminated door sills carry '1965' branding, while special inscriptions on the inner door panels commemorate the Monte Carlo-winning crew.
