As Covid cases are seeing a massive rise in Bengaluru, the micro containment zones are also going up in the city. There are 412 active containment zones in Bengaluru.
Bengaluru has been witnessing a massive surge in Covid infections over the past few days, prompting the administration to put more stringent measures in place to contain the infection. The spurt in coronavirus infections has also raised the number of containment zones in the city, which has become a cause of concern for health department officials.
Bengaluru alone reported 10,800 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours and the city added 51,000 infections in just one week from January 4 to 10. During this period, four deaths were reported and weekly tests went up from 3.5 lakh to 5.88 lakh.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
