Mercedes EQB unveiled - 7-seater electric SUV
India Today
Mercedes-EQ has taken the wraps off of the seven-seater EQB electric SUV. To be initially sold in the Chinese and European markets.
The new all-electric Mercedes EQB breaks cover in Shanghai, China at the on-going Auto Shanghai 2021 motor show. The EQB is touted as a compact for international markets by Mercedes but at nearly 4.7 metres in length, it would be as long as the new Tata Safari, for context. The all-electric SUV is based on the GLB, a model that we’re still awaiting in India and would make for a compelling proposition as a mid-sized seven-seater SUV. The exterior design of course sees major changes to the front-end to give it the EQ family face while most of the bodywork remains similar to the GLB. For a boxy design, the EQB achieves a very good drag value of 0.28. Among the most important aerodynamic measures are the completely closed grille, the aerodynamically efficient front and rear aprons, a smooth and almost completely enclosed underbody, specially optimised aero wheels and specifically adapted front and rear wheel spoilers. Inside, the EQB aligns with the new interior design that we’ve seen off-late from Mercedes. Dominated by the Widescreen Cockpit or the continuous instrument panel and infotainment screens, the EQB’s cabin looks rich with the use of aluminium and rose gold styling elements. Needless to say that Mercedes will equip its cabin with the latest technology and safety features along with MBUX to centralise controls and functions. The third row particularly gets attention in such formats and Mercedes claims that passengers up to 5.5 feet in height can comfortably be accommodated in the last row. The third row can also accommodate child seats.More Related News
