"This is the most random hobby ever, but it’s so fucking cool man,” the comedian said, excited over his interest in the paranormal.
Comedian Matt Rife announced Friday he purchased famed demonologist Ed and Lorraine Warren’s Connecticut home, which houses several haunted items, including the supposedly possessed Annabelle doll.
“We are the legal guardians and caretakers of all 750 haunted artifacts and items in the Warren museum including the Annabelle doll,” Rife said, announcing his purchase with online ghost hunter Elton Castee.
The house in Monroe, Connecticut, once belonged to the Warrens, who conducted thousands of paranormal investigations and inspired the “The Conjuring” films, which Rife said are his favorite scary movies of all time.
“So I’m incredibly honored to have taken over one of the most prominent properties in paranormal history,” Rife said in a separate post praising the Warrens for “arguably” putting demonology and paranormal into the mainstream.
Although Rife does not legally own the haunted items, he will be responsible for their care for the next five years. Among the items is Annabelle, a demonically “possessed” giant Raggedy Ann doll, according to the New England Society for Psychic Research, which the Warrens founded.
