
Massive fire breaks out at Delhi’s Azad market; five injured

A massive fire broke out and spread to nearby shops at Azad market in Delhi on Saturday morning. Twenty fire tenders had to be rushed to the spot to control the fire. Five people were injured in the incident.
A massive fire broke out in three buildings in Delhi's Azad market area on Saturday morning, officials said. One of the buildings has collapsed, they added.
The call came in at 4.40 am on Saturday morning, April 9. Disaster management teams including JCBs had to be called to remove the debris from the collapsed building.
The main building where the fire broke out had collapsed where there were some small cans of paint, tripal, etc.
Incidentally, in a welding shop nearby, a cylinder blast also took place, leading to minor injuries to five people.
According to the fire officials, after information regarding the blaze came in, 20 fire tenders were rushed to the spot, and the fire was brought under control around 7.30 am.
The fire department said no injuries have been reported. Legal action is being initiated against Shop No-391,392 Azad Market Shivaji Road, Delhi.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
