Marathi actor Ketaki Chitale, who was jailed for sharing an objectionable post against NCP chief Sharad Pawar, walked out of a Thane jail after 39 days.
A day after a Thane court granted bail to Marathi actor Ketaki Chitale in the objectionable post case, the actor walked out of a Thane jail on Thursday.
Chitale was arrested on May 15 for sharing a derogatory post on Facebook against NCP chief Sharad Pawar.
On Tuesday, when Chitale's bail plea came up for hearing before Judge HM Patwardhan, the prosecution, which had been opposing the bail plea, said they had no objection to her being released on bail.

A week ago, the actor was granted bail in a 2020 atrocities case by a Thane court. The actor had to furnish a solvent surety of Rs 25,000.
A case was registered against Chitale at the Rabale police station in 2020 under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act for posting derogatory remarks on Buddhism. Chitale was arrested in the case on May 20, 2022. She was picked up from the Thane central prison where she had been lodged in another case following a social media post against NCP chief Sharad Pawar.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
