The victim, Sahil Singhal, had allegedly been in an extramarital relationship with accused Priya Solanki. She had been pressurising him for marriage, but he refused. On Holi, she and her brothers, along with their neighbour, went to Sahil's housing society to confront him, which soon broke into an argument on the matter of marriage.
Four people, including the girlfriend of a property dealer and a minor, have been arrested in connection with the murder of the man in front of his wife and children on Holi in Noida.
The incident took place at the Ivy County Society in Sector 75, where the victim, named Sahil Singhal, was shot during a confrontation linked to an alleged extramarital relationship.
According to the police, Singhal had been in a relationship for the past four years with Priya, a resident of Ghaziabad. On the day of Holi, Priya reportedly arrived at the Ivy County Society in a car along with three men and entered the premises through the main gate to meet Singhal.
During the investigation, police found that Priya had been pressuring Singhal to marry her for some time, which had led to frequent disputes between the two. On Holi as well, Priya raised the issue of marriage, but Singhal refused, leading to a heated argument between them.
Police said Priya had reached the society with her brothers Nikhil Solanki and Lokesh alias Labbu Solanki, and a neighbour, Lucky. The four first went to Singhal’s flat, where they were stopped by his mother, Seema Singhal, who refused to let them enter the flat.
The accused then learned that Singhal was playing Holi downstairs in the society premises with his wife. They allegedly went there and once again began arguing with him over the issue of marriage.

India on Monday said it has not held bilateral talks with the United States on deploying naval vessels to secure merchant shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The clarification came after US President Donald Trump urged countries to send warships to keep the strategic waterway open amid tensions with Iran.
