
Man on bike dies after banned manjha slits his throat in Telangana's Mancherial

The dreaded manjha thread used for kite flying claimed the life of a man in Telangana's Mancherial on Saturday afternoon. The victim died on the spot.
A man died after his throat was slit by the banned glass-coated kite string (manjha) when he was going to meet his relative on his bike in Telangana's Mancherial district on Saturday. The victim, identified as Bhimaya, was riding a motorcycle with his wife riding pillion. A profusely bleeding Bhimaya died on the spot as the manjha was entangled around his neck, resulting in severe injuries.
His wife tried to save him but in vain. However, she sustained injuries. Tragedy struck the couple on Mancherial highway during the Sankranti festival. Police reached the spot after receiving the information and the body was sent for autopsy. A case has been registered and an investigation has been launched.
