
Man murders wife, rushes her to hospital in attempt to pass it off as natural death

A man in Uttar Pradesh's Sultanpur allegedly strangled his wife to death and tried to pass it off as a natural death. Post-mortem confirmed strangulation, and the accused later confessed during police interrogation.
A man has been arrested for allegedly strangling his wife to death in Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur district. The incident took place in Alahdadpur Basaunha village under the Gosainganj police station limits on Wednesday night.
The accused, Lal Bahadur, a resident of Basaunha village, was married to Sunita, who belonged to Sultanpur Khurd in the Bewana police station area of Ambedkar Nagar. On Wednesday night, Sunita died under what was initially described as suspicious circumstances.
Lal Bahadur took her to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead. He later informed Sunita’s family about her death. Her relatives reached the village and accused Lal Bahadur of murdering her. They alleged that he was often violent and had subjected Sunita to frequent physical assault. According to her family, she had returned to her parental home several times due to domestic abuse.
After receiving information, police reached the spot, took the body into custody, and sent it for post-mortem examination. The post-mortem report confirmed that Sunita died due to strangulation, ruling out any natural cause.
Following the report, police detained Lal Bahadur and questioned him. During interrogation, he confessed to killing his wife. Authorities arrested him and sent him to judicial custody. Police said further investigation in the case is underway.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
