A 45-year-old man was killed by a friend over issues with repayment of a loan in the Pochanpur area of Dwarka, Delhi.
The deceased was identified as Prakash Aggarwal (45), a resident of Hauz Khas. He was identified by his wife, Kanika Aggarwal, who was also searching for him and reached the spot based on Google's location. She suspected that the deceased’s friend could be behind the murder.
The body had multiple gunshot injuries and it was an indication of murder. Police started investigating the matter after a case was filed by his wife.
The CCTV footage of the area and other technical evidence suggested a link to Kamal Sharma, the friend of the deceased.
Several raids were conducted in Delhi and Haryana to trace the culprit. A close aide of Kamal Sharma, who used to work with him, was detained and questioned at length.
DCP Dwarka Shankar Chaudhry said, "The tactic worked and he spilled the beans during sustained interrogation and disclosed that the deceased and Kamal Sharma had met in Palam on the evening of February 17 to discuss their outstanding money dispute, where an argument over payment of dues escalated and later the accused shot the deceased to eliminate him.”
Then the accused picked up the dead body, wrapped it in a bag and then loaded it into Kamal’s Ford Figo Car for dumping it at a secluded place. They dumped the body in the Pochanpur area, where the body was later recovered by the police.
