Sources have told India Today TV that a major reshuffle in the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet is likely in the next few weeks. They said no leadership or organisational changes are expected.
Days after murmurs of brewing dissent and protest surfaced in the ruling party in Uttar Pradesh over the handling of the second wave of the coronavirus, several senior leaders held a crucial meeting in Lucknow on Tuesday. Sources have told India Today TV that a major reshuffle in the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet is likely in the next few weeks as new faces could be inducted into the state government. The sources have also indicated no major organisational changes ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2022. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will contest the UP polls under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath and state president Swatantra Dev Singh. RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, who was recently on a four-day visit to Lucknow, had sought feedback from key state-level functionaries of the organisation on the brewing protests and dissent in the state.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
