India Today
The Maharashtra political crisis has all major parties on the tenterhooks with the Shiv Sena, the Congress, and the NCP scurrying to secure their MLAs with the BJP closely monitoring the developments. So where does the Uddhav Thackeray-vs-Eknath Shinde stand right now?
The Maharashtra politics potboiler is heating up by the minute with both Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and rebel minister Eknath Shinde involved in an intense tug of war — the former to retain the support of his MLAs to stay in power and the latter to walk past the ‘magic number’ to avoid the anti-defection law.
The situation has the Shiv Sena’s partners in the Maha Vikas Aghadi — the Congress and the NCP —on their toes as well who are constantly holding meetings among their leaders to protect their own flocks.
