Maharashtra CID examines evidence against Param Bir Singh, others in extortion case

The Maharashtra CID has started investigation into the evidence submitted by complainant Sonu Jalan and Ketan Tanna against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh and others.

The Maharashtra Police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has started probing the evidence submitted by complainant Sonu Jalan and Ketan Tanna against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, Pradeep Sharma and others in an alleged extortion case, sources said. Earlier, the CID had recorded statements of Sonu Jalan multiple times wherein he claimed that Param Bir Singh and other police officers had extorted money from him in connection with a case. The evidence, according to the sources, are in the form of audio recordings, telephonic conversations and witness statements that both Jalan and Tanna had submitted before the CID officials.
