Maharashtra accounts for 58% active Covid cases, surge in infection visible in 8 states

Maharashtra Punjab, Karnataka, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu continue to report a surge in daily Covid-19 cases, the Ministry of Health said on Monday.

Maharashtra accounts for 58 per cent of the active Covid-19 cases in India, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) said. The Centre says Maharashtra Punjab, Karnataka, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu continue to report a surge in daily Covid-19 cases. These five states account for 78.41 per cent of the new cases reported from across India.
