Lucknow's Hotel Levana, where a massive fire claimed four lives on Monday, has been ordered to be demolished.

Lucknow's Hotel Levana, where a massive fire broke out on Monday morning claiming the lives of four people, has been ordered to be sealed and demolished by the city administration. Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Roshan Jacob, who is probing the fire incident, said that the establishment's building map was not approved and hence it should be sealed and demolished.

Four persons died in the fire that broke out at the hotel in the Hazratganj area on Monday morning. According to sources, the fire started in the kitchen of the hotel. The fire was confined to the kitchen but the smoke spread to the other parts, which led to the four casualties.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak had earlier said that a high-level inquiry committee will probe the incident. The panel will comprise the principal secretary (home), principal secretary (medical), and other senior officials. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also asked the divisional commissioner and the police commissioner to investigate the incident.
